Runescape: Evolution of Combat Launches 20th November

After five months of feedback and fine-tuning, runescape game hugely excited to be able to announce the official live launch date of the Evolution of Combat: the 20th of November 2012!

Evolution of combat contains an array of large-scale improvements and new features, including: Abilities , Adrenaline, Action Bar, Armour and Life Points, Dual Wielding , more details here

Rift : Open Beta Extended

Trion Worlds has announced that the open beta for rift: Storm Legion has been extended an extra

two,days to give players even more time to check out the massive expansion. The open beta will run from November 2-7th.

Heart of Fear Now Live & Raid Schedule in WOW

The latest Normal difficulty Mists of Pandaria Raid Dungeon is now available: Heart of Fear. Raid Finder and Heroic difficulties will be available Tuesday, November 6. Raid Finder will unlock bosses in Heart of Fear over time, and all Heart of Fear bosses will be unlocked and available Tuesday, November 13. SWTOR Developer Update: Technical Changes in Game Update 1.5

As a tech artist in SWTOR, I create tools to help the artists get their work into the game, and I work with the programmers to make the game run more efficiently. One of my favorite things to do is write shaders. 

What is the shaders? Shaders are small programs that run on the graphics chip that describe the appearance of surfaces. For example, shaders define if an object looks shiny or dull, reflective or matte, and they also help us define the visual style of the game in terms of how lighting works.

After we shipped the game last year in star wars: the old republic, I started looking for ways to update the shaders,Several of these updates have already gone in,my favorites is going live with Game Update 1.5 – translucency on foliage. i was really struck by the translucent properties of leaves and grass, this effect does not reduce the frame rate. more details and pictures see this link.

I have logged almost 500 hours into Guild Wars 2, with most of my time on the Mesmer, Elementalist, and Ranger. The Ranger is a class that gets a lot of flack on the Guild Wars 2 forums,they said ranger players is the weak, unplayable, poorly-designed red-headed step-child of Tyria. I would say that the Ranger is the most well-designed and well-balanced class in the game.

Arenanet has updated the guild wars 2 news about the Halloween festivities, they are good news for us.

The details as follows:

GW 2’ costume brawls are aplenty and the Shadow of the Mad King is falling across Tyria. they will add another opportunity for us to get shiny Halloween goodies.

We will be glad to hear that guild wars 2 are adding recipes to the Mystic Forge that will allow us to throw stuff us to get from the Black Lion Chests into it to get a special Halloween chest (no key needed for this one). These chests will include Halloween specific loot and give us a second chance to get one of the terrifying, rare Halloween skins. Here is the recipe they will add:

You need 1 Candy Corn, 6 Mystery Tonics, 1 Boost (any), 1 Boost (any) to get a Mad King Chest.

World of warcraft: mists of pandaria editorial: review in progress part three

This week for our continuing review of Mists of Pandaria we are going to take a close look at the pet battle system in the game. Some may dismiss this as a side attraction or mini-game; however we looked at it as an intregal part of world of Warcraft which is here to stay. The Pet Battles are fun and bring something completely new to the players which we found quite addictive. I thought it best to go into the highlights and low points of this system and explain why it is so important to Azeroth’s future.

Here is the bottom line with the pet battles for WoW: while many of us made fun of it, it really is a great addition to the game. It is a fun ancillary system that players can choose to partake in or not. There is no pressure to level up like mad to be competative. The system is just fun as it is. Thanks, Blizzard for adding something into the game that truly does feel new.

Face the dragon lord in the Tiamat slayer event in Aion online

Everything you have faced thus far has been building to a final showdown with Tiamat. Within the Dragon Lord’s Refuge, a new 12-person-alliance instance coming in 3.5, players’ skills will be tested to the limit as they face the mighty Balaur Lord in the Aion online game.
Defeating Tiamat will be no easy feat, but those who manage to accomplish the task may walk away rewarded in the Tiamat Slayer Event! There are two components to this event:
Tiamat’s Welcomers
The first alliance (12 members) to successfully defeat Tiamat will hold the honor of receiving the Dragonsbane title, signifying to all that they were the first to ‘welcome’ Tiamat to the NA Aion servers!
The Dragonsbane title lasts 15 days, and grants HP +100, Attack +3, Speed +5%, and Magic Boost +15!
Note that the first alliance to defeat Tiamat does not need to participate in the Tiamat Slayer Guide portion of the event to win their prize, although they are encouraged to do so!
